Winter Recap 3: Copenhagen and New Years Eve

Halfway through winter recaps.

Here is a small taste of Copenhagen, Denmark:
First thing to note is that everything here is gut-wrenchingly expensive.  This sandwich cost approximately 10 USD.  Note a conspicuous lack of anything:

Here are some exhibits from the National Museum of Denmark:

Christianborg Castle:

The streets and canals:

Shopping mall?

Some fresh local chocolate!

On the streets:

Here is Rosenborg castle, originally a summerhouse of Danish monarchs:

Entering the treasury:

The crown jewels:

In the castle proper:

The throne, guarded by three silver lions:  The Danes really like their gold and silver.

Outside:

Derp lion; scary man:

Tivoli gardens:

Fun / shameful fact: Since the food was so expensive here, a large portion of my dinner consisted of all-you-can eat soft serve.  I had about 2-3 bowls.

Fireworks at night:

Canals in the morning:

Christianshavn hut:

Anyone recognize this place? It is ridiculously small inside.

More soaring cathedrals:

The world's last Blockbuster!?

Local bakery:

This is Pusher /street, a sketchy area in Christianshavn where you can buy weed and weed accessories.  No cameras on the inside, but I had a few quick shots of the outside before the market.  Inside smelled bad and had lots of unfriendly people around.  Some tourists brought their kids inside, which is quite baffling

Little mermaid and around the waterfront:

That is about it for Copenhagen.  It was a friendly city and seems like a great place to live.  Unfortunately it was a little too expensive and cold for my tastes.

Now for more London!
Westminster abbey.  I finally went inside but realized they didn't allow cameras.  As a brief summary, there are a lot of famous dead people inside.

Natural history museum:

Giant extinct animals anyone?

Here is London at New Years Eve.  It was jam packed, squeeze-your-lungs crowded.  Tons of people taking drugs of every kind (I second-hand inhaled way more things than I thought possible).  That was the price to pay for a view close to the London Eye, the firework central:

Fireworks galore for 2014!

Lots more adventuring to come!
